The magnificent works of Edward Elgar, the unofficial English national composer, echo the days of British greatness in all their grandeur. Yet Elgar’s most glorious and beautiful work, The Dream of Gerontius, is more than a composition; it is an emotional journey into the unknown, like a dying man’s prayer reaching for the heights. World-class vocal soloists and British music specialist Martyn Brabbins, musical director of the English National Opera, bring the message of Easter to the Sibelius Hall.
