The Lahti Symphony Orchestra is a dynamic, innovative orchestra maintained by the Finnish city of Lahti. Major functions are, in addition to offering audiences a wide range of concerts, touring, recording and education. Its home is the Sibelius Hall, famous for its magnificent acoustics. The orchestra, together with its Principal Conductor Dalia Stasevska, seeks to recruit first-class players with good team-working skills.
CLARINET/BASS CLARINET
The Lahti Symphony Orchestra invites applications for the position of CLARINET/BASS CLARINET starting on 19th of August 2024.
The clarinetist in this position is the primary bass clarinet player in the orchestra. The musician plays in the orchestra as well as chamber music groups, and maintains the capability required by orchestral literature. We appreciate the experience of similar tasks, good co-operation and interaction skills. The salary, including the individual pay component and recording supplement is 3005–3245 € per month.

1st round
- W.A. Mozart: Clarinet Concerto KV622
- D. Schostakovich: Symphony No. 8 op. 65, mvt 5 “Allegretto” (bass clarinet)
2nd round
- W.A. Mozart: Concerto for Bassoon and piano KV191, mvt 1 “Allegro”, transcr. for Bass clarinet
- J. Sibelius: Symphony No. 1 op. 39, mvt 3 “Scherzo” (2nd clarinet)

Audition on the 28th of May 2024
- The orchestra will choose the participants to the audition based on the information in the applications
- Invitations to the audition will be sent during Tuesday 30th of April 2024
- The auditions will be held at the Kalevi Aho Hall of Lahti Music Institute (Hämeenkatu 4, Lahti) on Tuesday 28th of May from 11 a.m. onwards. An interview may be included in the audition.

PRINCIPAL TROMBONE
The Lahti Symphony Orchestra invites applications for the position of PRINCIPAL TROMBONE starting on 19th of August 2024.
Principal trombone plays at the orchestra and chamber groups and maintains playing capability required by orchestral literature. He/she leads the trombone section by rehearsing, supervising and developing it, and provides instructions for acquiring group assistants and substitutes. We appreciate the experience of similar tasks, good co-operation and interaction skills.
The salary, including the individual pay component and recording supplement is 3351–3620 € per month.
