The secret of the Sibelius Academy Conducting School, widely considered to be the best in the world, is simple: students get to make music in front of a real orchestra right from the start. Led by Professor Sakari Oramo, talented students now also go on tour conducting some of Finland’s best professional orchestras. Each student interprets a short piece or movement from a larger work.
Fresh interpretations, new insights, daring tempos – the Lahti Symphony Orchestra audience will have a unique opportunity to witness the first steps of future conducting stars in front of a major symphony orchestra.
