Tale of the Sleeping Giants appeared in 2021 and is the sequel to Tale of a Forest and Tale of a Lake. Directed by Marko Röhr, this documentary takes you on a journey through Lapland’s nature, its seasonal changes and the mythical tales inspired both by the animals of the north and by Lapland’s rugged landscapes. The film follows animals such as arctic foxes, ptarmigans, wolverines, snowy owls and reindeer in the fells of Finland and Norway. The narrator is actor Peter Franzén and the music is by Jussi award-winning composer Panu Aaltio.
A tribute to Lapland’s wild nature and its ancient beauty, Tale of the Sleeping Giants provides an unforgettable experience for both the eyes and the ears. At the Sibelius Hall it will be performed by the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and the vocal ensemble Tuuletar, conducted by Erkki Lasonpalo.
