1st violin (tutti)
Period of applying 14.9.-25.10.2026. Audition 21.11.2026.
Tutti violinist participates in both orchestral and chamber music activities and maintains the level of playing proficiency required by orchestral literature. We value previous experience in similar positions and good collaboration and interpersonal skills.
The salary, including the individual pay component and recording supplement, is 3171-3425 € per month.
Audition repertoire
1st round:
- W.A. Mozart: Violin Concerto no. 3, 4 or 5, 1st movement until the recapitulation without the cadenza
- J. Sibelius: 1st Symphony excerpt from the 1st movement
2nd round: Orchestral excerpts
3rd round: Choose one of the following concertos: 1st mvt. (5 min. from the beginning of the solo part)
- J. Brahms: Violin Concerto in D, Op.77
- P. Tsaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D, Op.35
- J. Sibelius: Violin Concerto in d, Op.47
- F. Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto in e, Op.64
- L. van Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D, Op.61
4th round: Chamber music excerpt
Audition on the 21st November 2026
The orchestra will choose the participants to the audition based on the information in the applications.
Invitations to the audition will be sent on week 44/2026.
The Auditions will be held in the Kalevi Aho Hall of the Lahti Music Institute (Hämeenkatu 4, Lahti) on Saturday 21st November.
The orchestra will provide a pianist for the audition; however, use of own pianist is also possible at the applicant’s own expense.
The audition may include an interview.

The position is subjected to the collective agreement for monthly paid musicians in the municipal sector. A trial period (6 months) is assigned to the selected person.
